Exploring San Diego, California

Blog post in collaboration with the San Diego Tourism Authority. All thoughts, words, and photography are my own.

The last week of June I went to the beautiful destination of San Diego to spend some wonderful days, enjoying its nature, gastronomy, entertainment, and wonderful views of the city.

San Diego Tourism Authority provided us with a wonderful itinerary with fantastic activities, which made us discover the city to the fullest. My companion on this trip was my younger sister, who is part of my work team, with whom I had great fun moments during the trip.

I am happy to share with you my recommendations in San Diego based on my recent trip.

La Jolla

We first visited the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego (MCASD) which debuted its long-awaited renovation and expansion of its La Jolla flagship campus.

I love art, and this museum is very interesting, I enjoyed every single minute inside the place.

The views from the terrace of the MCASD are beautiful and I like that at all times it takes care of projecting the contemporary art that characterizes it. MCASD is a must-stop in San Diego!

Thank you very much for allowing us access as Media #MCASD #VisitSD.

Pop-up Picnic La Jolla

The appointment was in Cuvier Park, a few minutes walk from MCASD, which was wonderful for us, the area is beautiful for walking and the beach is spectacular.

The Pop-up Picnic team was on time to prepare our ocean-view picnic. We loved everything that was presented to us, especially my favorite was the Charcuterie grazing board, I am a lover of picnics on the beach and this was a magnificent experience.

This is a great option to relax during your visit, I highly recommend it for couples, or if you go with a family member (as was my case), since you can enjoy the tranquility and have your zen moment having an excellent time.

Rady Shell at Jacob's Park

First opened in the Summer of 2021, The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park is an architectural wonder on the edge of San Diego Bay and the heart of downtown. Years in the making, The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park is the soaring culmination of a long-time civic desire to have a state-of-the-art concert venue that elevates the experience of live music while also serving as a public center for all of San Diego. Like well-known national venues such as Wolf Trap, Tanglewood, and Ravinia, The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park provides a sparkling summer home for the San Diego Symphony.

The experience was exquisite! Spectacular wine + an excellent jazz show and a beautiful sunset in the background describe our pleasant experience. I appreciated the moment and the opportunity to connect with new people. Thank you very much for the access as Media #AtTheShell #VisitSD.

Breakfast at The Rooftop by STK at the Andaz San Diego hotel.

We loved breakfast on the hotel terrace, the quality of the service + the ingredients made us have an excellent morning. I like quiet spaces that allow you to enjoy your dishes comfortably, I highly recommend it if you stay at the hotel.

We enjoyed a great bike ride in Coronado, with excellent views, I highly recommend the area as it is very quiet to walk and have a good time.

Dinner at Lumi

@lumirooftop

It has been one of my favorite restaurants in the Gaslamp Quarter, the area is very nice to walk around. The place offers excellent views, as well as excellent drinks and dishes. I consider it an ideal place to spend the afternoon, eat delicious food and have a few drinks. Spicy Margarita was one of my favorites.

Drinks at You & Yours Distillery

Speaking of drinks, we went to this place after a nice dinner, this place was recommended to us for drinks. We found it cozy and the service very attentive, it is a good option to have a quiet chat and enjoy drinks and tapas. I suggest a “flight” and a round of cocktails to have a good time.

The list of places that I can recommend is long, I recommend you enjoy the moment and just flow. Without a doubt, San Diego is a very interesting city that stands out for its multiculturalism.

I want to thank the San Diego Tourism Authority @visitsandiego team for putting together this spectacular travel itinerary! I have very good memories of San Diego and I hope to visit the city again in the future.

We used @crossborderxpress to get from Tijuana to San Diego and the experience was enjoyable and effective. Thank you very much for the opportunity.
